Dear Parents /Guardians,
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you and your child to M.S. 180. I am looking forward to a fun and successful year full of learning and new experiences for your child and our entire classroom of learners.
This cannot happen however, without your help. As your child’s first and most important teacher, you are my most valuable resource. It is important that your child knows that you and I are working as a team to see that he/she reaches his full potential. There are several ways for you to be involved in your child’s academic life. With this in mind, please review the following expectations with your child.
ATTENDANCE
Support your child in arriving at school on time everyday and dressed accordingly to the school policy.
If your child is absent for any reason, homework is required the day after his or her return to school.
If your child is absent from school (except for sickness/emergency) when a test is given, he or she will not be given a make-up exam.
HOMEWORK
Children will be given homework assignments everyday (including weekends) It will be the student's responsibility to complete his/her homework. When student is absent, please check the website, as homework will be posted online.
Homework is due every day, late work accepted only on the next day and loses 50% of the grade. Late assignments will lose 5 points every day and will not be accepted after the first week.

At the end of the year, students have to return the books they receive @ the beginning of the year. Your child is responsible for any lost book. Please ensure they keep them carefully.
